This delightful armchair quest around Iceland's Golden Circle leads us through history's stepping stones to some of Iceland's most spectacular scenery. The trip starts in Reykjavík and negotiates both a mountain range and Iceland's roughest lava fields on the way to Hveragerdi, Iceland's orchard and hot-spring Mecca. Then on to Christianity's historic Skálholt, to Europe's most beautiful waterfall - Gullfoss ("Golden Falls"), and to Geysir - that wondrous spewing geothermal fountain whence our English word "geyser" sprang.
