The Icelandic Fjallagrasa Schnapps has been produced since 1993 but only been available for purchase in the Duty Free store, Keflavík airport, until last year. It is now sold in the Icelandic liqueur store, Vínbúð, and in bars, restaurants and hotels in Reykjavik central. It is 38% strong with an extraordinary good after taste.

Milled Iceland Moss is soaked for a long time in a special alcoholic solution. This dissolves and extracts the biologically active compounds, which also give the color and the unique taste of the Schnapps. No artificial taste or taste is added so the Fjallagrasa Icelandic Schnapps is a pure natural product. In the bottle we include some whole Iceland moss thalli, both for decoration and increased potency and taste.

Icelanders have used Iceland moss (Cetraria islandica) as a food supplement and herbal medicine for centuries. It is used against coughs and sore throat, as well as stomach problems and dry skin.
