
The civil flag of Iceland was first used as an unofficial symbol of Iceland in 1913. On June 19th 1915 it was chosen to represent Iceland and has been used on boats since 1918 when Iceland became separate Kingdom from Scandinavia. The colors of the flag have a meaning that describe the country of true nature paradise. Blue is the color of the Icelandic Mountains, white represents the snow and Glaciers covering Iceland and the red represents the Volcano's in Iceland.
