Inspiration for this book comes from Hermann Hesse´s "Siddhartha," a beautifully expressed story of human transformation, and from Mel Gibson for his multiple award-winning roles as producer, director and lead actor in the movie "Braveheart," a striking protrayal of heroic archetypes.
All photographs were taken in Iceland exept for Chapters 6 and 7 which were taken in Norway. All the photographs were taken at the locations and contain no studio work. No backgrounds have been replaced.
Fiann Paul´s photography has been acclaimed on five continents. His art is related mostly to the ancient folklore of the North and most of his exhibitions have been located in the North Atlantic countries of Iceland, Greenland and the Faroe Islands. Legend is published both in English and Icelandic. He is based primarly in the North Atlantic countries and Los Angeles.
