Sólstafir - Ótta (CD)

$27.99

Sólstafir were formed by 3 friends, Aðalbjörn Tryggvason, Halldór Einarsson and Guðmundur Óli Pálmason in January 1995.

Out of Iceland, Sólstafir continues to craft music that is difficult to define. Their beginnings were in black metal, but over the years they have quickly moved away from that genre and have incorporated punk, as well other rock/metal genres into their unique sound. Ótta, the group’s fifth full-length album pushes Sólstafir into all new directions. The punk attitude and the dirty guitars of past releases are still there, but Ótta teems with somber atmosphere and evokes strong sensations of regret—much like its album cover with an old man along a foggy, rocky beach, perhaps reminiscing of past regrets.

Sólstafir konw how to rock, rattle and roll, and while they aren't afraid to show it, they have truly found inner peace in the more laid back and epic parts of their music. Sólstafir have crafted something that any music lover can jive too, yet also something that speaks to the greater power of their origins. Fall into the void and feel the vibe man, Ótta is music unlike any you've ever heard, so come forth and revel in it.
